It's agreeable that Italians have this knack for detail, too. They can make something dull or boring into a stunner. That's unbelievable, yet it's so true. Would love to read more about your books, too. You are right that traveling makes up great material. I really have to go back to Florence soon!
Yes, all my novels are available on Kindle. Just go to Amazon and enter my name - then pick whatever you want, a cozy mystery or a sweet romance or a short story. :-) Beate Boekerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16299015488989360031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3914401126533757247.post-39683125623133050662013-04-29T16:15:20.036+01:002013-04-29T16:15:20.036+01:00Claude,

And I love following the escapades and experiences of writers in Italy and Germany. I would imagine you have so much rich material for your books! I, too, am a baby boomer, but am just producing my first book, a memoir about how growing up the the 60s affected my worldview and shaped my emotional reaction to a huge life event that impacted me later, through my daughter. Though I am pulled into commenting on Jack's comment, I will refrain, except to say that I am an ultra "can do" American, but see hope that all Americans might finally have a fair shot at success if we can start working together in Washington. Oh wait. That was too political, wasn't it? : ) Are Beate's books available on Kindle?Judy Lee Dunnhttp://www.catseyewriter.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3914401126533757247.post-507296224880810912013-04-29T07:39:15.544+01:002013-04-29T07:39:15.544+01:00Jack and Beate, thanks for the comments!
Yes, we ...Jack and Beate, thanks for the comments!

Yes, we Europeans very much appreciate the "can do" approach Americans exhibit so well, and Obama in particular comes in mind, with his "Yes, We Can" campaign. But Jack, I'm afraid I have to agree with Beate: it's not a matter of politics in the sense of "which side are you on, left or right" but rather a matter of choosing good, dedicated persons able to serve effectively the public interest, i.e. "politicians with integrity", men and women who can be called "statesmen"...like Churchill! In other words, people able to rise above personal interests and work for the greatest good of everyone and not for a particular faction.Claude Forthommehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03871790739257823515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3914401126533757247.post-40538299209802974282013-04-29T07:09:57.762+01:002013-04-29T07:09:57.762+01:00The world is certainly connected in many amazing w...The world is certainly connected in many amazing ways today, and the domino effect can be scary. Personally, I would root for any politician with integrity and who can see the whole picture instead of just one slice of the cake / lobby.Beate Boekerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16299015488989360031noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3914401126533757247.post-59496543744033797592013-04-28T22:21:53.995+01:002013-04-28T22:21:53.995+01:00There are still those Americans with a "can d...There are still those Americans with a "can do" approach to life. It's a very traditional attitude that is disappearing as many Americans become "Europeanized". The progressives are doing their best to drag us into the same pit of despair that you speak of. If I were a European, I would be rooting for traditional Americans to prevail. If we can drag ourselves back from the edge of the abyss, we will probably drag Europe with us. Isn't that what happened after the World Wars and briefly after the Cold War?Jack Durishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06577583997517810469noreply@blogger.com
